Will you join us on Friday, February 17th from 7:00-8:30pm for the second Friends of Skagit Beaches lecture? Come early to the Northwest ESD Building at 1601 R Avenue in Anacortes since last time we reached our maximum capacity.
Jay Orr, PhD, research fisheries biologist, NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service, Seattle, WA
Pacific viperfish, northern flashlight fish, longsnout prickleback – just a few of the species identified in a 35 year survey of the Salish Sea. The report and forthcoming book, co-authored by our speaker, are sure become valuable references for further scientific work on Salish Sea fish. Please come to hear Dr. Jay Orr, PhD, research fisheries biologist, Alaska Fisheries Science Center, NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service, Seattle, WA, present and discuss his findings. As the report’s other co-author Dr. Ted Pietsch has said “If you don’t first know what you have, it’s impossible to know what you might be losing”.
