Update on the Salish Sea Stewards Training and Volunteer Program

You may have heard that some changes are in the fall air for the Coastal Volunteer Partnership program. This is true. The funding structure and management of the program will change in November, but the Salish Sea Stewards concept still has dedicated organizations that want to see our training and volunteer coordination program continue. Although the program will no longer be under the direction of the Padilla Bay Foundation, a transition team is in place with representatives from the Skagit Marine Resources Committee, Friends of Skagit Beaches, the NW Straits Commission and CVP volunteers. We are currently evaluating options to transition the CVP program to a new organizational structure.  We hope to have details to share with our volunteers by mid November. Stay tuned and keep volunteering and logging those hours – you are making a difference!
